Cibrián is delighted to present Seven Whale Road, multidisciplinary artist Rindon Johsnon´s first solo exhibition in Spain. Rindon Johnson is a writer and a poet whose work is grounded in language.

When guessing numbers 1–10, the number 7 is most likely to be picked. Seven is most people’s favorite number. Seven is divine. In the Sumerian sexagesimal number system, dividing by seven was the first division which resulted in infinitely repeating fractions. A seven-sided shape is a heptagon. The regular n-gons for n ≤ 6 can be constructed by compass and straightedge alone, which makes the heptagon the first regular polygon that cannot be directly constructed with these simple tools. Seven (plus or minus 2) is a model for working memory. I take seven here to make this show.
It starts at 49 days (7 divided by 7) from the opening, the show must be decided.
I watch the whale road at La Concha from the webcam, I draw 7 drawings every day and in honor of 49, of San Francisco, 7 by 7, and of the daily 7 there will be:
7 paintings
In 7 colors chosen by Sydney my daughter who is 7
The paintings will be (and are) a square of 77 centimeters on each side
And they will be (and are) 77 centimeters off the ground and never more than 77 centimeters apart from one another (if ever apart at all)
There will be (and are) 7 mahogany tables
Upon those 7 tables will be (and are) 7 rawhides from 7 different cows killed 21 days ago (21 being divisible evenly by 7)
Every single day 1 of the 7 rawhides will go (and has gone) to the ocean, to the whale road, at La Concha, each time a photo will be taken (and has been) and then printed and then lined up ( or will be) along a shelf.
