Esther Gatón

Esther Gatón (Valladolid ES, 1988) creates site specific environments, through sculpture, audiovisual works, and installation practice. The resulting works tend to distort the meanings that attach to various materials, creating forms that modify our movement or posture, in which the prevailing form is not what the object does, but how it makes things do things.

Gatón has exhibited in institutions such as CA2M Madrid, Matadero Madrid, La Casa Encendida, Museo Patio Herreriano, Museo Picasso Barcelona, Fabra I Coats, Etopía Zaragoza, Biblioteca Rio Grande Brasil, CENTEX Valparaíso Chile and The Watch Berlín. She has pubilshed writings in La Raya Verde, El Estado Mental, Materiales Concretos and Nero. Recent awards include Circuitos de las Artes Plásticas, Injuve, and the Ayudas Comunidad of Madrid
